THE trailer of a new film which features the real life story of a Glasgow man has been unveiled.

The movie Ride, which stars rapper Ludacris, will feature the rags to riches tale of BMX rider John Buultjens.

The Evening Times previously reported that John overcame a tough upbringing in the city's Drumchapel to become a BMX superstar.

John, 45, went from an abused child who had a tough upbringing to a BMX superstar admired by riders all over the world after he was adopted in the 1970s by bi-racial couple Eldridge and Marianna Buultjens, who he considers his parents today.

Ludacris plays his father Eldridge in the film which has been given an American twist to reach a bigger audience.

The trailer, which teases coming soon, was released yesterday and features Harry Styles' hit Sign o' the Times.

John told his fans on social media: "Trailer for Ride is now up. Can’t wait for the world to see my wee story."

John also released a book version of the film which features the Glasgow story. It was written by Glaswegian author Chris Sweeney.
