THEY paid up to £7000-a-head to see one of the true Hollywood greats say hello to his friends.

Superstar Al Pacino jetted into Glasgow to spend the evening reminiscing at the Clyde Auditorium over nearly half a century in the movie business.

The audience was treated to tales from his time Off-Broadway in the '60s right up to the present day, and including some personal stories and unseen clips.

Some of the audience were given a rare chance to speak with the 75-year-old, who had been at the London premiere of his new film Danny Collins the previous night.

Amongst those queueing for the blockbuster event were husband and wife Gary and Cora Fraser.

The couple had come down from Aberdeen for several times just to see their movie idol, having paid £550 each for the privilege of a glass of bubbly and meet-and-greet with the star.

Cora, 52, said: "We just love his movies and him to bits. My husband adores him. The Godfather is both our favourite movie.

"We'd seen somewhere in the paper he was coming and got tickets as soon as we could. I'm so excited about getting my photo taken with him and haven't a clue what I'll say to him. I'm really nervous."

Al Pacino previously said to looking forward to being in Scotland.

He said: "Coming to Glasgow will be one of the highlights of the tour for me and I'm looking forward to experiencing a warm Scottish welcome and sharing an evening of engaging conversation and laughter with my Scottish fans."
