COMIC fans joined Scots celebrities in Glasgow for the charity premiere of Hollywood sequel Kick-Ass 2.

Series creator Mark Millar was in high spirits as he mingled with cinema-goers - including extras from the film wearing full superhero costumes - before the event which was held at Cineworld in Renfrew Street.

Coatbridge-born Mark, who was at the premiere with partner Lucy Unwin, said he was looking forward to hearing his family's feedback on the movie, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz.

The 44-year-old said: "I've managed to get my brother to the cinema for about the seventh time in his life - and he's in his 50s. He only comes to the cinema when it's free so it's only for my films.

"I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks."

Mark said he was hoping to pull a host of Hollywood stars to Glasgow for the future film premiere of his book The Secret Service, which is being directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Michael Caine and Samuel L Jackson.

He said: "It's written in the contract that the film premieres have to be in Glasgow. It's very important to me."

Other famous faces at the event, where all proceeds were going to Mark's old school, St Bartholomew's, included Burnistoun actor Robert Florence and Michelle McManus.

l The film is released in the UK tomorrow.
