THE streets of Glasgow have been taken over again for another movie.

Scots star David Tennant joined former Bond girl Rosamund Pike on the set at a terraced house in Scotstoun to film scenes for a comedy titled What We Did On Our Holiday.

Pike, who played Miranda in Die Another Day, walked up and down the garden path outside the two-storey house and Tennant stood in the front garden as dozens of camera operators and film crew gathered to shoot the scenes.

Parents and children from nearby Scotstoun Primary were excited to see the film set and cast as they walked home from school.

Tracey Andrews, 43, had heard about the filming when she went to collect son Ronnie, 9, from school and rushed round to Ormiston Drive to have a look.

She said: "I really wanted to get a picture with David Tennant. I ran down here and I'm shaking. He's gorgeous."

Ronnie is also a big fan of Dr Who, one of the previous roles played by Tennant.

Billy Connolly and Ben Miller also star in the movie, which will be filmed in different locations across the Highlands and Glasgow until August 3.

It tells the tale of a family going through a tough time who go on a road trip to Scotland for the grandfather's 75th birthday, but encounter chaos along the way.

The film is the latest to be shot in Glasgow. Others filmed recently include sci-fi hit Cloud Atlas, starring Halle Berry, and Brad Pitt's Zombie tale World War Z.

As part of the West End Festival, the Grosvenor cinema, in Ashton Lane, will stage a special screening of World War Z tomorrow.
