Former James Bond star Sir Sean Connery has been voted the greatest Scottish actor of all time by cinema goers.

The 84-year-old Edinburgh born actor took 25% of the vote, beating David Tennant into second place.

Other stars that made it into the top ten include James McAvoy, current Doctor Who Peter Capaldi and Ewan McGregor to take the title.

The poll was organised by Odeon to celebrate the opening of its new seven screen cinema in Fort Kinnaird on Friday, March 20.

Scottish artist Ben Morris has now created a unique piece of artwork featuring Connery alongside other top Scots actorsto mark the cinema's.

Andy Edge, Commercial Director at ODEON UK & Ireland said: "Scotland has given us some of entertainment's biggest and most exciting stars throughout the years as this special artwork shows. Film has been missing from Fort Kinnaird for a decade, and we can't wait to bring it back with the opening of our new cinema this week."
