What they lack in the ability to induce guilt, the Glasgow four piece make up for with some pleasing melodies undercut with just the right amount of garage rock edge.

A decent crowd has congregated on the T Break stage to take in a band that recently received the seal of approval from Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos.

Catholic Action have been gigging across Glasgow for some time now and have brought a loyal following with them to Strathallan, but they crucially manage to capture the happy wanderers who flit from stage to stage until one of their favourites appears.

It’s easy to understand why, they’ve got just enough in their locker to be a refreshing change from the endless stream of synthpop, but retain the pop sensibilities that keep the crowds happy.

As they wrap up set with Stars and Stripes it’s easy to see why many have predicted bigger venues than the T Break stage in the future for Catholic Action.
