SINGER-songwriter Jerry Lee Lewis will come to Glasgow as part of his farewell tour.

The tour is part of the star's 80th birthday celebrations.

He will perform at the city's Clyde Auditorium on September 10.

With the only other date in London entirely sold out, the Glasgow show marks what will be the last opportunity to catch the legendary live performer in concert.

An innovative and flamboyant showman, he changed musical history in the late 50s with classics Whole Lot Of Shakin' Going On and Great Balls Of Fire.

His other early hits, Breathless and "High School Confidential, are also recognised as some of the greatest songs ever recorded.

Alongside rock and roll's first great wild man at the Clyde Auditorium is a full band featuring many musicians who are legends in their own right, including guitarists James Burton, who played with Elvis himself, Steve Cropper from Booker T and the MGs, and the UK's renowned Grammy winning Albert Lee.

Guest vocalists include Linda Gail Lewis and Anne Marie Lewis.
