Rapper 50 Cent is putting his Connecticut mansion back on the market as he faces bankruptcy.

The "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" star has been trying to sell the 50,000sg ft property in Hartford - valued at 18.5m US dollars (£12m) - since 2007. He bought the property from boxer Mike Tyson in 2003.

His lawyer Pat Neligan told a court hearing of the singer's attemot to sell the 21-bedroom, 24 bathroom property, the Hartford Courant reported. 50 Cent did not attend court.

The rapper's lawyers have said he was initially trying to lease the mansion. They said he has dropped the price several times in a bid to secure a sale.

Lawyers worked out details on payments to the rapper's legal team and accountants and disclosure to creditors of his endorsement deals. The next hearing is scheduled for September 18.

The rapper was born Curtis Jackson III. The "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" album helped make him one of the world's best-selling artists. He filed for bankruptcy last month.
