Singer Rod Stewart has revealed who his favourite Celtic player is and where he likes to go for a tipple when he comes to Scotland during a question and answer session on Twitter today.

The legendary pop star answered questions posed using the hastag 'AskRod' via video clips in a Twitter first.

During the event, he revealed who was his favourite Celtic player, saying, "Jimmy Johnstone was a really good friend of mine as was Kenny Dalglesh."

He hesistated, " I can't even answer that question," before revealing, "It's probably Jimmy Jonhnstone. Good friend and I spent some time with him on his last week's on this earth, so sadly missed.

The football theme continued with one fan asking the star if he planned to come to Moscow for the World Cup and he replied, "The 2018 World Cup if the Russians get it, I presume they will and if Scotland qualify I'll be there. But it's a long way off. A lot of trouble in the world of football at the moment. A lot of people going to go to jail, oh yeah."

And TV personality Piers Morgan even returned to his journalistic roots by asking if his team Arsenal would lift the English Premiership title this year.

And football mad Rod responded:

The 70-year-old singer, who has just released his new album Another Country, reminisced about his favourite Scottish bar. He spoke about the Wee Barrel in Paisley saying, "I haven't been there for a while in fact they may have knocked it down. But it really was a good Scottish pub."

He also said that judging The Voice wasn't something he fancied and he admitted that a Faces reunion tour was not off the cards. Fans can see more of the question and answer session on his official Twitter page @rodstewart.
