The Voice coach Will.i.am has revealed how he united Prince and Michael Jackson, despite their alleged feud.

The Black Eyed Peas singer and producer explained how he had “brought them together” in an interview discussing Prince.

Prince died at his Paisley Park estate near Minneapolis on Thursday aged 57 after he was found collapsed in a lift.

Will.i.am recalled how the Purple Rain singer had invited him to perform with him in Las Vegas.

During a phone call from Michael Jackson on the same day, he then invited the Thriller singer to join them.

“I called Prince and his folks and they arranged it (for Michael to come down), they have an infamous feud and I brought them together,” he told the BBC.

“I saw Michael Jackson watch Prince perform, that was amazing and now just a sad reality that they both have passed.”

Details of their feud are not well-known but people have long speculated as to whether lyrics in Prince’s song Life ‘O’ The Party referred to Jackson.

Prince is also believed to have backed out of a recording session for Jackson’s charity single We Are The World.

American authorities are investigating whether foul play was involved in Prince’s death, after saying there was “no reason to believe” he killed himself.
