A screenplay written by 50 Cent is being turned into a TV series on Starz, with 50 acting as executive producer.

Tomorrow, Today, follows a veteran from Chicago’s south side as he becomes the personal experiment of a “mad” prison doctor hell bent on creating a killing machine. The man is eventually set free, but is being hunted, and must learn to use his new powers for good.

Anthony Cipriano, the creator of Bates Motel, and Dan Kay will join 50 as executive producers for the show, which follows a similar premise to Marvel’s Luke Cage.

“This project is very personal to me…creating it, writing it, finding the best team for it and I will continue to be involved every step of the way,” 50 Cent said.

Tomorrow, Today will be 50′s second show with Starz and the production company will hope it can reach similar levels of success as Power, currently airing on Netflix, which saw its viewership grow 389% from the season one premiere to season three, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, Luke Cage debuts on Netflix on September 30.
