An award-wining songwriter from Motherwell is set to perform at a gig presented by DF Concerts, the promoters behind King Tuts and T in The Park.

Gordon Robertson will be supporting Us the Duo at Stereo in Glasgow on Sunday, March 12.

Us the Duo are formed of husband-and-wife team, Carissa Alvarado and Michael Alvarado, a hugely popular folk pop duo from LA with over 4.4 million likes on Facebook and 1.6 million subscribers on their YouTube channel.

They rose to fame a few years ago for their six-second covers on the now defunkt social media site, Vine, which led to them being the first music artist to be signed to a major label through that medium.

Motherwell-based musician Gordon, 23, won the first ever International Song Competition from Only Entertainment with his song 'Vodka Lemon Lime' and writes and performs his own original material.

Speaking about the upcoming gig Gordon said: "I'm so excited to be offered an opportunity to support such an incredible act.

"It's quite surreal that I'll be supporting Us the Duo who I remember watching several years ago doing their six-second covers. I'm really looking forward to the gig and can't wait to get out there."

Last year he released a song in honour of Andy Murray becoming world number one in the tennis rankings.

The song titled, 'Number One (a Postbox Painted Gold)', was an online hit with almost 2000 views on YouTUbe and a retweet from Andy's mum, Judy.
