SIR Elton John's promoters have said his Airdrie show will still go ahead this summer despite the star suffering from a “potentially deadly” bacterial infection that forced him to spend two nights in intensive care.
The singer, 70, contracted the infection during his recent tour of South America.
He became “violently ill” during the flight home from Santiago, Chile and was admitted to hospital.
Sir Elton is now back at home but has been forced to cancel the April and May dates of his Las Vegas residency.
He is due to play Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium on June 24 and his promoters confirmed that the star is expected to make a full recovery to perform the show.
A statement said: "Elton will be returning to his schedule of live performances starting in London at The Twickenham Stoop on Saturday June 3 before performing in Derby, Birmingham, Leeds, Blackburn, Peterborough, Ipswich, Widnes and Airdrie in June as part of Wonderful Crazy Night Tour and tickets for all shows are available to purchase from theticketfactory.com."
