A TOP director joined Liam Gallagher to shoot his new music video in Glasgow on Monday.

Shane Meadows who is best known for the film This Is England and the music documentary The Stone Roses: Made of Stone directed the latest video by the former Oasis star.

Liam was joined by Shane at city music venue King Tuts to film the video for upcoming single Come Back to Me which is taken from the star's debut solo album As You Were.

The venue also has a strong link to the singer's past. It is where Oasis were first spotted by Creation Records mogul Alan McGee, who later the signed the band.

Shane confirmed that he took time out of his schedule to work on the video.

A statement on his website said: "Taking a break from post-production work on his forthcoming TV series The Virtues, Shane has taken the opportunity to team up with Liam Gallagher on a music video shoot in Glasgow.

"Last month the call went out for fans to be extras in the music video shoot, but only today was it confirmed that Shane was the director. Liam gave a subtle hint on Twitter before the shoot began."

Liam took to Twitter to confirm the shoot had been a success he said: "Massive thank you to Shane Meadows, his crew and the beautiful people of Glasgow for making that the most pain free video of all time."

The Evening Times revealed yesterday that the famous Gallagher brother had take time out to take selfies with fans.

Liam will return to the city's SSE Hydro in December with his As You Were tour.
