TWO Scottish singers have made the BBC Sound of 2018 Longlist, which is chosen by 170 music industry experts.

Glasgow-born Tom Walker and Bathgate singer Lewis Capaldi have both made the longlist which predicted the success of Adele in 2008, Sam Smith in 2014 and Dua Lipa in 2016.

The daily countdown of those artists who make the top five will begin on BBC Radio 1 on January 8. The winner will be announced live on air by Annie Mac in Clara Amfo’s show from 10am on January 12.

Glasgow-born Tom Walker is best known for single Leave A Light On and recently played a sold-out show at the city's King Tuts.

Lewis Capaldi rose to fame with his track Bruises and wowed the crowds at this year's Trnsmt music festival in the Glasgow Green.

Both singers are also nominated at the Scottish Music Awards which take place in Glasgow this Saturday.
