Paul Gambaccini will host a high-profile music awards this year more than six months after his arrest as part of Operation Yewtree.

The broadcaster was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in October as part of the force's investigation into historic sexual offences.

Gambaccini, who denied the allegations after his arrest and remains on police bail, will present the Ivor Novello Awards next month.

He stepped down from his weekly BBC Radio 2 show after the arrest.

The awards pit stars including John Newman and London Grammar against each other for the prestigious songwriting gongs.

Other nominees include last year's Mercury Award winner James Blake, Brit Award winner Sam Smith, and Olly Murs, whose track Troublemaker is in the running for most performed song.
