ROCKERS Cavaliers are gearing up to support rising stars Neck Deep when they roll into town.

The Dumbarton band are supporting the Welsh headliners tomorrow, and lead singer Scott Williamson says they couldn't have hoped for a better start to the year.

He said: "We're absolutely buzzing for it, we definitely didn't expect it to sell out so quick.

"For it to be our first gig in 2014, it's just so exciting."

Formed in 2012, Cavaliers have always had their eyes on the skies, but their feet remain firmly on the ground.

Scott added: "I've played in bands since I was 15 and so have the other guys.

"This year is more about ambition. Rather than just playing gigs, we want to play gigs to get to people.

"We're under no illusion of how hard it is, but I think we're gradually getting where we want to be."

Fuelled by starting the year with this sell-out show, the band have big plans for the rest of 2014.

"We're hoping to record the rest of the EP before the summer, that's our number one priority," he said.

"Then we're going to try and get another seven to 10-day UK tour booked and record a video for one of the songs."

The band hope their video will eventually make it all the way to rock TV station Scuzz.

The boys remain unfazed by the challenge, despite being unsigned and having to finance their plans on their own.

Scott added: "The main challenge is funding, as you only make a little from ticket and merchandise sales.

"Any label interest would be great, but it would need to be the right offer to be considered.

"There are pros and cons to both sides.

"We really appreciate people who come out their way to see us.

"When people come from outside Dumbarton to see us it just absolutely blows our minds."
