HYSTERICAL fans queued for more than six hours in Glasgow's City Centre to catch a glimpse of rising pop star Elyar Fox.

Young people lined the streets outside the Buchanan Street branch of HMV from as early as 6am yesterday in a bid to meet the 18-year-old British singer.

They were desperate to get their hands on one of the 300 wristbands, which allowed them to see a live performance.

The singer, who is tipped to be the next Justin Bieber, was met with deafening screams when he arrived at the store for his live acoustic set, which took place at around 12.30pm.

He then signed copies of his new single, A Billion Girls, for scores of fans.

Joanne Clarke, 17, from Eaglesham, and her 12-year-old cousin Erin Murray, from Ayr, arrived shortly after 6am.

Erin said: "I can't believe we got to see him this close."

Joanne said: "He's really talented."

Erin McCulloch, 13, and her sister Caitlin, 16, from Riddrie, had queued since 7.30am.

Caitlin said: "We came in to get his CD and see him live - we didn't want to miss out on this."

Melissa Hemmingsley, 12, had travelled in from the South Side with her mum Sharon, 41.

Sharon said: "We came just after 8am and there was already a big queue."
