Former Primal Scream guitarist Robert 'Throb' Young has died, according to reports.

Young is a founder member of the Glasgow group, which formed in 1984.

The band achieved huge success in the 1990s with their album Screamadelica, which included Movin' on Up and won the first Mercury Music Prize.

Young left the band in 2006.

Fans have expressed their sadness at Young's death on Twitter.
