Their conscious uncoupling has now become a plain old divorce - Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have legally split, according to reports.

The stars announced their separation in March last year after 10 years of marriage, but stayed close friends and had not actually divorced.

However, according to The Sun, they have apparently been thrashing out the details of their break-up over the past weeks and Iron Man star Paltrow has been making it official in the US courts.

The Daily Mirror has reported that papers were due to be finalised yesterday and that the pair planned on splitting their £120 million fortune and custody of their two children Apple, 10, and Moses, eight, equally.

There had been rumours that the pair could reunite after they were spotted on holiday as a family and spending Valentine's Day together, but making the split official puts an end to the speculation that they were recoupling.

Both have also started new relationships - Paltrow has been spotted getting close to Brad Falchuk, the producer of TV series Glee which she has made guest appearances in, while Coldplay frontman Martin is reported to been having an on-off relationship with actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Apparently, the former couple, who described their split as "conscious uncoupling," have been trying hard to approach the divorce amicably, meaning that their family holidays could continue even after the papers are signed.
