Thousands of people have already visited the restaurant since it launched at the end of November in the former Athenaeum Theatre in Buchanan Street.

But the grand opening - dubbed the Scottish Music weekend - will attract even more fans when it kicks off on Friday, January 31.

KT, who played at the Hard Rock Edinburgh's 10th anniversary and donated memorabilia to the Glasgow eatery, will play a live set in the afternoon.

The traditional Hard Rock guitar smash, which officially opens every cafe, casino and hotel owned by the chain, will be at 7.30pm.

Among the other artists on the bill during the three-day event are rockers, We Were Promised Jetpacks, as well as Glasgow bands The Fratellis and Kassidy.

Staying true to its musical roots, free masterclasses will be offered by Hard Rock bosses.

Andy McKenzie and Jamie Keenan from the La Fontaines will be hosting the lessons on Saturday, while legendary music journalist Billy Sloan and Emu band will take over on Sunday.

Jo Wilke, general manager at Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow, said: "The cafe has had such a great start since opening its doors in November that we just can't wait to host a three day rockin' extravaganza."

The chain, which has 175 branches around the world, is asking music fans to visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/hrcglasgow to find out more details about attending the event.

The cafe is also taking part in a fundraising drive for victims of the Clutha helicopter victims' families and survivors.

Staff at the cafe will be selling white wristbands from January 27 until February 2.
