Kasabian have topped the nomination list for this year's NME Awards as they battle for eight prizes.
Other acts with multiple places on the shortlists include Royal Blood and Jamie T who are in the running for seven awards.
Kasabian are among the stars who will compete for the best British band trophy at tonight's event along with Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys, Chvrches, Royal Blood and The Libertines.
Another top award for best album will be fought out between Kasabian for 48:13, Jamie T (Carry On The Grudge), La Roux (Trouble In Paradise), Royal Blood (Royal Blood), Run The Jewels (Run The Jewels 2) and St Vincent (St Vincent).
The ceremony - officially called the NME Awards 2015 with Austin, Texas - are staged at the O2 Academy Brixton.
The villain of the year category sees Russell Brand and Nigel Farage nominated with Taylor Swift, Bono, Prime Minister David Cameron and Harry Styles.
NME editor Mike Williams said: "From massive comebacks to huge breakthroughs - the fact that Kasabian, Royal Blood and Jamie T are leading the way shows what an outstanding year it's been for British rock music."
Page, widely regarded as one of the greatest rock guitarists ever, was an in-demand session man before finding fame and played on some of the biggest hits of the 1960s including songs by The Who, The Kinks and Them.
He also had a stint with pioneering rockers The Yardbirds, playing alongside Jeff Beck and then later replacing him in the group which eventually became Led Zeppelin.
Tonight's awards will also see Suede named as winners of the Godlike Genius award.
The Clash, Paul Weller, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, New Order and Joy Division, Dave Grohl, Noel Gallagher, Johnny Marr and Blondie are among previous winners.
The NME Awards are held at Brixton Academy tonight.
