TRADITIONAL folk band Capercaillie is marking a musical milestone with a trip to Paisley Abbey,
The award-winning Scots group is celebrating 30 years in the music industry this year, and will be performing songs from their newest album at the medieval abbey tonight.
Frontwoman Karen Matheson said: "Paisley Abbey is a very special place to perform, with great acoustics and a fabulous atmosphere.
"We will be playing a mix of old and new songs, but the gig will be accoustic, as I don't think the Abbey lends itself to a rock'n'roll drum kit!"
The show forms part of this year's Spree festival, which kicked off last night, with more than 80000 people expected to attend events during its 11-day run.
Members of the Renfrewshire Junior Gaelic Choral Association, Emma Creighton, 11, and Sarah England, 10, helped promote the events.
Featuring workshops, comedy, drama and music by artists from across Scotland, the festival will run alongside the Royal National Mod, which comes to the town for the first time this year. For more information and tickets, visit www.thespree.co.uk
