RADIO stars Trevor Nelson and Sarah-Jane Crawford are set to host the MOBO awards.

Organisers have revealed that the pair will lead the celebrations at the urban music event at the Hydro on Saturday, October 19.

BBC radio presenter and urban music DJ Trevor Nelson will bring his music knowledge to the stage where he will be joined by BBC Radio 1Xtra's Sarah-Jane Crawford.

Some of this year's most exciting acts are set to perform at the ceremony including ­Rudimental, Tinie Tempah, Laura Mvula and So Solid Crew.

Performances will ­feature trampolines, gymnasts, special guest ­vocalists, dance troupes, and a fairground.

Among the bands in the running for awards this year are Wretch 32, Jessie J, Jessie Ware, Laura Mvula and Wiley.

Each category is now open to the public vote which closes on Wednesday, October 16 and votes can be placed at www.mobo.com/voting2013.

Kanya King, founder and chief executive officer of the MOBO awards, said: "As it is our 18th anniversary year - a big one for us, it's wonderful to have hosts on board that we know will put on a great show, love the music and are at the heartbeat of young Britain."

The awards will be the first multi-artists, televised event at the newly-opened SSE Hydro.
