MARK Ronson has topped the singles charts for the first time with Uptown Funk, which was rushed out after it was covered on The X Factor.
The track, which features Bruno Mars, was released five weeks early after it was performed by Fleur East on the ITV show.
Now it has earned Ronson his first number one in the Official Singles Chart. His previous chart best is number two which he achieved with the singles Stop Me and Valerie - the latter a collaboration with his late friend Amy Winehouse.
He said: "This is my first number one single as an artist or producer so I just want to thank everyone who bought, downloaded or DJ'd Uptown Funk this past week.
"It's pretty much the coolest thing ever. I also have to thank Phil Smeeze, Jeff Bhasker and the boy wonder Bruno Mars without whom they'd be no jam."
