Guitar legend Slash says he's keen to cast Nicki Minaj as a murder victim in one of his films.

When asked what role he'd give the American rapper, who will host the MTV EMAs at the Hydro in Glasgow on Sunday, he replied "first girl murdered".

The former Guns N' Roses guitarist, who is a keen filmmaker, made the comment ahead of his MTV World Stage show with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and Biffy Clyro at the O2 academy in Glasgow.

The music legend was also keen to share his love for Scotland and, in particular, Glasgow ahead of the show.

He said: "Scotland's just beautiful, I love it here.

"I've got a lot of good memories playing this city (Glasgow)."

Myles Kennedy, the frontman of Alter Bridge and The Conspirators, who perform with Slash, says it's the fans that make Glasgow special.

He said: "The crowds in Glasgow are fantastic. I've played this venue (the O2 Academy) a few times and have very fond memories of the insane Glasgow crowds.

"Probably some of the best memories of Glasgow I have are at the after shows, meeting fans and them being so generous and even bringing gifts. They're so passionate and I love that."

He also revealed that he has his own personal connection to Scotland.

Asked about Scots that inspire him, Kennedy replied: "My step dad inspires me and he's got a fair amount of Scottish in him."

Slash will perform with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and Biffy Clyro at the O2 Academy in Glasgow tonight.
