Pipers from round the globe descended on Glasgow Green for the first day of the World Pipe Band Championship.
Ian Bowden and Mathew McCafferty, of Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band, tuned up in front of the giant ferris wheel in the park.
They were among thousands of competitors who were preparing for the serious competition over the weekend.
The Championship is the biggest international competition in the pipe band world.
Around 30,000 people are expected to attend, as well as more than 200 bands and 8000 pipers.
Last year the Field Marshal Montgomery Band, from Lisburn, Nothern Ireland, won the world title for the third year in a row.
