Diversity star Ashley Banjo has said he will be waiting with a snake at the airport to welcome his brother Jordan home from the I’m A Celebrity… jungle on Tuesday.

The dancer spoke during rehearsals for the Royal Variety Performance, where the group are set to perform for the third time since winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

But not all of the group were present as member Jordan Banjo, 23, was on his way home from taking part in the ITV jungle competition.

Ashley, 28, told the Press Association: “He (Jordan) is missing this performance but he’s coming back today so we’ll have a snake waiting for him at the airport.”

Fellow star Perri Kiely added: “Good old Jordan, we’ve missed him. Even I’ve never been away from him for this long.

“He’s done so well out there with the trials and conquering his fears, we’re really proud of him.”

But there will barely be time for the younger Banjo brother to get over his jetlag as the troupe said they will be jumping straight into rehearsals for their special ITV show, Steal The Show, airing later this month.

It will continue to be a busy period for Ashley, who is set to star as a judge in the new ITV show Dance, Dance, Dance, hosted by Alesha Dixon and set to be broadcast next year.

Promising viewers a show “like no other,” Ashley said: “I am so excited about this. We’ve been recording already and it’s so good.

“The celebrities involved are recreating really iconic music videos, dance sequences, movies all set against this background of super, futuristic projection mapping.

“You’re not just watching a TV show; the moment they start to dance the CGI comes in and it actually takes you into the video, so you are in Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal, Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head. It’s incredible.”

The dancers will be meeting Prince Charles at the Royal Variety, broadcast next week, but not for the first time.

Ashley joked: “We’ve met him before – he comes over every now and again for a cuppa, and he loves jaffa cakes too.”

But Perri said that even their third appearance at the show marked a “really special night” for the group, adding: “It’s amazing to be asked back so many time and every time has been special.”

It isn’t the only thing that the 20-year-old has taken in his stride, having recently caused a media storm after social media pictures of him showing off his toned physique while on holiday were featured on ITV’s Lorraine.

“People don’t realise what happens after eight years,” he told the Press Association. “You kind of grow up.

“People are surprised when they meet me and find out I’m not 12 any more, and they seem to be a bit disappointed.”

Ashley added: “As well as some rest, our New Year’s resolution needs to be for Perri to stop growing. I used to be able to throw him around.”
