Dawn French’s debut novel is being adapted for the small screen.
A Tiny Bit Marvellous – the book published in 2011 about a dysfunctional family – will be broadcast on ITV, the Daily Mirror reports.
Twins Emma and Beth Kilcoyne, who worked on Dawn’s 2010 series Roger & Val Have Just Got In, are adapting the comedy drama.
A source said that it was unlikely that Dawn would want to play the lead role – Mo Battle who is facing the menopause and approaching 50 – but could play a more minor character.
“Dawn loved working with the twins so much on Roger & Val she thought of them straight away when adapting her debut novel into a series,” the source told the newspaper.
“Dawn believes she’s now too old at 59 to play the mother character.”
