Hold up, I’m A Celebrity fans – there may be a new potential couple in town.
Joel Dommett, who recently came second on the latest series of the jungle-based show, has responded to Ferne McCann’s previous comments about having a bit of a crush on him.
Appearing on This Morning, Joel was probed by hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford over whether he would fancy going on a date with the former Towie star.
He said: “It’s lovely. I think she’s absolutely wonderful. It’s Ferne McCann, not Ferne McCan’t! So let’s do it!”
Ruth and Eamonn then asked if they should set one up, to which Joel replied: “Shall we set up a live date? I’ll ask (my mum) Penny.”
Penny, Joel’s mum, has already given her views on Ferne, admitting that she thinks she’s a lovely girl.
Joel laughed: “I love how you’ve asked my mother before you asked me.”
Joel and Ferne have not yet met each other, but during his stint in the jungle, Ferne – who presents the showbiz segment on the popular ITV daytime show – revealed all on the sofa.
She said, while discussing the show: “It’s no secret that I have a crush on Joel. I like him.
“I think he’s really funny, he’s got great abs, he’s got a great body, he’s eye candy but I think the reason why people are loving him is that he’s a normal guy and he’s witty. He’s got great banter.”
Ferne was then able to speak to Penny via video link from Australia, and it went swimmingly between the pair.
Could Joel and Ferne – who came third on I’m A Celebrity last year – be the next hot new celebrity pairing? Watch this space.
