Celebrity MasterChef fans are rooting for Angellica Bell to take the crown following the show’s tense semi-final – including dashed hopeful, Rebecca Addlington.

The TV star has won hearts throughout her time on the BBC 1 competition with her cheerful attitude and warm personality, which recently saw her present a baked Alaska in a tearful tribute to her “great” husband, presenter Michael Underwood.

Wednesday’s episode saw her claim another victory as her dishes of duck breast and chocolate mousse cake won her a place in the series final.

Olympic swimmer Adlington, who was booted from the show following her disastrous dessert, led a wave of support for Bell, Tweeting: “Rooting for you all the way.”

Her comments came after Bell posted that she was “genuinely upset” to see her friend leave the show and described her as “an amazing cook” and a “beautiful person, in and out.”

Viewer Sonia Pain added: “I couldn’t agree more xxx huge congratulations to you too Angellica xxx.”

While many shared their disappointment that Adlington did not make it through the penultimate round, one viewer said of Bell: “My winner from the start make it real.”

Another added: “Congratulations will be cheering you on.”

Bell will join fellow finalists and TV regulars Ulrika Jonsson and Dev Griffin when the Celebrity MasterChef final airs on Friday at 8.30pm on BBC 1.
