Magic just got sexy...thanks to Britain's Got Talent star Darcy Oake.

The Canadian heartthrob had us all under his spell with his grand illusions when he was a finalist on the hit ITV show last year.

And now Scottish audiences will get to see his tricks live when he takes to the stage at Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium as part of his Edge of Reality tour on Saturday, September 19.

He said: "I can't wait for the tour. It was one of the nice things that has happened since Britain's Got Talent. The show has opened up all these doors and I wouldn't be getting to come here if it wasn't as a result of everything that's happened."

Fans of the magician and illusionist, who also appeared on the one-off ITV special Edge of Reality, can expect big things from the show which will allow the star to showcase magic that has never been seen before.

He said: "It was a really important point for me to not just take the three acts from Britain's Got Talent and the stuff from the ITV special then just do it live.

"I don't want to give it away but it's new stuff. It's stuff that not only have I not done before. It's an approach I don't think has ever been done in magic in general so it's shining a whole new light on the craft as opposed to reworking old material."

The Scottish date will be the first time single Darcy has properly visited Scotland.

He beamed when asked about Scottish women, "Of course I love the Scottish accent," and he also admitted he hopes to take in Glasgow's nightlife ahead of the show, saying, "I will definitely have at least one night out on the town."

It's hard not to find Darcy charming as he talks with so much enthusiasm for a craft he has mastered since the age of eight.

He explained why he loves magic so much, saying: "Literally you can go on the internet and find the answers to pretty much anything. Half the time Google knows what you are going to ask it before you even ask it. So to see something you can't explain just from the general knowledge that people have is an amazing thing."

Nowadays, technology and social media have the potential to expose a magician's secrets but for Darcy, the digital revolution has only spurred him on to be the best he can be.

He explained: "The issue with YouTube, Vine etc is the fact you can watch it over and over, and you can slow it down. You can pause it at certain frames. I do think that pushes people to be at the top of their game and be the best they can be.

"Understanding that if we record this and put it online, people will stop it, repeat and watch it over and over until they think they have a feasible method.

"It almost pushes you to be better in a sense because you try to stay ahead of that and realise that if they pause it here, are they going to see something?

"So it is taking all of that into consideration before you put something out there but when you do put it out there it is the best it can be."

Darcy realises that the show would not have been possible without his fan base who have supported him since he first stepped on to our TV screens.

He said: "I am very much thankful that these people enjoy what I do and want to see more so I make an effort to reach out on twitter.

"It's important for me when I get these messages on Twitter to actually reply.

"I don't want to be that guy who is online, sends out a tweet and is like look at me, and then just ignores everyone."

Now a Britain's Got Talent veteran, Darcy admits he still tunes into the show.

He said: "It's really fun. It's a really good show and they have it sorted out to the T on how to make it great TV."

His tour, however, is the focus for now and while we won't reveal the Scottish themed stunt Darcy has planned, we do know as Simon Cowell said, "we are witnessing the birth of a star."
