Lewis McKenzie's verdict: five stars

At The Stand, Glasgow, Matt Forde delivered a tremendous performance, encapsulating the politics of modern day Britain in his show, "Get the Political Party Started".

In a year which has seen the SNP sweep across Scotland in the polls, to the fall of the Liberal Democrats, to "Corbyn-mania", Forde leaves no stone unturned  in the British political landscape. With carefully observed and accurate impressions of figures including Ed Milliband, Nigel Farage and David Cameron, the mannerisms and identities of those in the public eye are displayed by Forde on the stage in excellent detail.

The show flows very well and Forde hits his mark with every line, demonstrating a wide knowledge of the current state of politics in Britain, as well as the public opinion of it.

For any fans of other forms of political satire such as Mock The Week, Have I got News for you, or even the American shows such as The Daily Show, Forde is a performer you will enjoy and the accuracy with which he hits his targets of political humour will entertain and amuse you from start to finish. As Forde points out during the show, with the events that have recently taken place; "What a year it's been". With this in mind, perhaps seeing Forde on this tour has come at the perfect time.
