Recently formed amateur theatre company Glasgow Live Productions are taking to the stage this week tackling Stephen Sondheim's Company.

Since opening on Broadway in 1970, Company has spanned the globe and obtained the highest achievements in musical theatre awards.

The show, set in New York, revolves around Bobby, and his series of girlfriends, where he observes the virtues of sanctity of marriage whilst reflecting on himself and his readiness for the commitment.

"Tackling a Sondheim as our first show has been very challenging but very rewarding," said assistant producer and musical director Angus Reid.

"By giving the cast a score and book that is so challenging, they have pushed themselves to deliver, and this has left us with a very high standard of performance,"

Glasgow Times:

Glasgow Live Productions have updated the show after the introduction of same-sex marriages in Scotland last year.

"In these great times, it only seems fitting to include modern day equivalencies in our own production of Company. Therefore, is gives us great pleasure to introduce our brides - Amy and Paula,"

Glasgow Times:

"Including a same sex marriage makes Company a lot more modern day and relatable, without losing the integrity of the script,"

Company runs from the 12th to 14th November at Websters Theatre. Tickets can be purchased here.
