THE PANTO season isn’t quite over.
But already the King’s Theatre is alerting panto fans to the news of this year’s 2016-2017 production.
Oh yes they are!
The King’s is bringing back Cinderella, perhaps the best panto tale of all the classics, running from December 2, 2016 until January 8, 2017.
The rags to riches tale makes its tenth appearance in the history of the King’s legendary pantomime.
King’s Theatre General Manager James Haworth said; “Over eighty nine thousand customers have enjoyed the magic of panto across the last five weeks.
“And as the curtain falls on Snow White, we’re delighted to announce this year’s title will be Cinderella.
“The fairy tale is a firm favourite with King’s audiences, and we look forward to presenting another first class production packed full of family fun and adventure.”
Scottish panto greats including Jimmy Logan, Stanley Baxter, Rikki Fulton, Elaine C. Smith, Gerard Kelly and Karen Dunbar have all graced the King’s stage in Cinderella.
But who will the glass slipper fit this year?
"Casting announcements will follow," said Mr Haworth.
