SCOTLAND'S hottest young dance talent is to take over the Theatre Royal with a showcase of new work.

Dance schools, colleges, community groups and emerging artists are to take part in Go Dance provides a fantastic platform for both established groups and up-and-coming talent to share and perform their work.

Until March 5, Go Dance 16 will present more than 45 groups with a different programme of dance each evening.

From ballet to ballroom, lyrical to Latin and funky street to folk fusion, there’s an eclectic mix of styles to be enjoyed.

For the dance festival’s ninth year, a new host will be taking over compering duties.

George Drennan, who has worked extensively in Scottish theatre and television credits include Taggart, Still Game and most recently the Irn Bru Train Advert, will be in charge of the transition between acts.

Creative Learning Manager, Alison Cowan, said: “Go Dance is a unique opportunity for participants off all ages, from 5 to 85, to share their passion for dance and celebrate their creativity.

"It has, over the years, established itself as a highlight in the Scottish dance calendar and we are thrilled to see some of our regular contributors return with brand new choreography as well as welcome a number of newcomers.

"We’re also delighted to introduce a fresh face to the proceedings, our new host George Drennan.”
