A BRAVE group of Scottish comedians are hoping to build a digital audience by streaming their stand-up live on Facebook from a city boozer.

Laldy Comedy's Chrissy Ross will be joined by fellow comedians Gary Meikle, Fergus Mitchell and Kimi Loughton for the live show which will be filmed at Glasgow city centre's Yes Bar.

Chrissy said: "Stand-ups are very precious about their material, no comic will put their material out there.

"The only person who has done it in the UK has been Janey Godley and she did a Facebook live of her show at the Fringe.

"This, however, will be a weekly thing and we will put the show out not just as live stand-up comedy but as a podcast as well.

"That has not been done anywhere."

The move is a rarity for comics who often use the same material from show to show.

But Chrissy is confident that this new method of delivering live comedy will open up more avenues to reach a bigger audience.

He said: "We can only reach 45 to 60 people at a time at the Yes Bar and because no one has done this before we have the potential to reach whoever tunes in so that is what is exciting about it.

"I have to give Gary Meikle credit because he is doing 20 minutes of his Fringe show.

"A lot of professional circuit comics would never put 20 minutes out there.

"Gary, however, writes so much so he is quite confident about doing that."

The show will provide plenty of laughs as well as chat from guests including Glasgow band The Hollows lead singer Wull who will be appearing on Tuesday's show.

The group, however, are prepared for a technical failure and should the show not stream as expected, they will upload at a later stage.

Chrissy said: "You are going to see a range of comedy and something that is unique. Fergus is quite dry, Kimi has a voice that female comedians rarely have and Gary is one of the best up and coming acts if not in the UK then definitely Scotland.

"You are getting to see the best new acts in the country before they break out."

You can watch the show via Laldy Comedy's social media and for more visit www.laldycomedy.com.

The show will air at around 8pm to 10pm on Tuesday.
