GARY: TANK COMMANDER star Greg McHugh will be starring in panto this Christmas.

He will take to the stage at this year’s SEC Armadillo pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk. The actor will play Gary Trot, brother of Jack.

Edinburgh-born Greg trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Alongside writing and starring as Gary McLintoch in Gary: Tank Commander, for which he was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA, Greg is well-known for playing Howard in Fresh Meat, a part he played from 2011 to 2016 and Eddie Scott in The A Word.

Gary joins The Dolls' actresses Louise McCarthy and Gayle Telfer Stevens, who is also of River City.

The pair were announced earlier this year as playing Jack’s naughty aunties, Auntie Agnes and Auntie Sadie. The Dolls, with their unique brand of physical and vocal comedy, have recently stormed venues across the country with their show The Dolls Abroad, which enjoyed sell-out success.

Jonathan Kiley, Executive Producer for Qdos Entertainment will also direct this year’s show after a previous triumphant season at the venue directing John Barrowman and The Krankies

He said “The comedy of both Gary Tank Commander and The Dolls is absolutely hilarious and to have them on stage together will be a real panto treat. Both Greg and The Dolls have enjoyed huge success across Scotland and we’re excited, with the help of our Glasgow-based writer Alan McHugh, to be creating a real Scottish treat for SEC audiences this Christmas”.

The show runs from Saturday, December 16 until Sunday, January 7.

Tickets cost from £17.05, with early-bird prices available until May 31.
