A MUSICAL based on the story of Celtic Football Club is to return to the Pavilion Theatre - with the addition of Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic - The Musical will run at the Glasgow venue from April 18 to May 12, next year.

The show features the songs that have sung by supporters at Celtic Park over the years, and tells the story of the club.

The story takes starts with founder Brother Walfrid and explores Willie Maley's legendary successes as manager and the scoring feats of Jimmy McGrory.

The musical also relives the wing wizardry of Jimmy Johnstone, the triumphs of Jock Stein and the legacy left by icons such as Billy McNeill, Tommy Burns and Henrik Larsson.

The show will also be updated to include the club's latest chapter of Brendan Rodgers and his invincible team.

The show's writer Nicky Allt told Celtic's official website: "The reaction to this show was beyond anything I could have imagined.

“Since the day the curtain came down, it became very clear that we just had to come back. Whether it was people who had seen it and wanted to experience it all again or the thousands of people who couldn't get a ticket, we have witnessed a non-stop campaign to do it all again - and we can't wait!"

Celtic legend Bertie Auld added: "It was a privilege for me to be part of the show first time round and I can't wait to see it again. It really is a must see for all Celtic fans".
