A NATIONAL Theatre of Scotland play, which is a hit all over the world, is back to wow audiences in Glasgow.

The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, created by Scottish writer David Greig and director Wils Wilson, sold out performances in California, Texas and Florida.

It will be staged at Maryhill Burgh Halls at the end of March.

The production has undertaken the longest international tour by the company to date, spanning four continents, nine countries and 46 different venues.

Wils explained: "It's truly wonderful that The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart is coming back to tour Scotland again 2014. The audience plays such a big part in the show that every performance is different,."

The play premiered in the Victorian Bar at Glasgow's Tron Theatre, in 2011, before achieving phenomenal success and critical acclaim at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe.

In keeping with the site-specific origins of the show, the production has since been staged in a tavern, breweries, and village halls and art studios with bars built in.

Audiences are invited to share a lock-in with the National Theatre of Scotland's company of actors and musicians and to indulge in an evening of ghost stories, music and theatre inspired by the Border Ballads, Robert Burns and the poems of Robert Service.

The play, sponsored by Benromach Single Malt Whisky, follows uptight academic Prudencia Hart as she travels to a conference in Kelso in the Scottish Borders.

The show will run at Maryhill Burgh Halls on March 25, 26 and 28 at 7.30pm, on March 29 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and on March 30 at 3pm
