MOTHER and daughter Suraya and Karen Ahmed provided a splash of colour for the launch of this year's West End Festival programme.
More than 400 events will take place at 80 venues from Sunday June 1 to 29, with the showpiece Byres Road parade taking place on June 8.
This year a new project has been added to the bill, The Cottier Dance Project, Glasgow's only professional dance festival, running from June 23 to 27.
Liz Scobie, chairwoman of the West End Festival board said: "This year is extra special because of the Commonwealth Games and the Mardi Gras Parade Day Party provides the perfect start to an unforgettable summer."
