THE cast of Fame - the Musical took to the streets and surprised onlookers as they recreated poses from the famous stage show.

Four cast members - Alex Thomas, Sasi Strallen, Jodie Steele and Harry Blumenau - danced their way down Glasgow's Buchanan Street to mark the opening night of the King's Theatre show.

The high-energy performance, which was directed by Thriller Live producer Gary Lloyd, will run at the city theatre until June 28.

Set in 2014 at New York's High School for Performing Arts, it tells the tale of a group of young showbiz hopefuls who are about to undertake the journey of a lifetime.

Ambition, heartbreak, triumph and romance try to kock the kids off course and the pressure becomes too much for some. But those who remain are determined to live forever.

Dynamic dance routines and unforgettable songs have been re-worked and reinvented for this latest production, which has run in London's West End seven times since its launch in 1988.

Along with evening shows, there wil be matinees on Wednesday and Saturday.
