A Scots actress is on cloud nine after winning her dream panto role.

Rachel Flynn, who trained at Motherwell College, will star alongside the Krankies, John Barrowman and Melanie Masson in Cinderella at the Clyde Auditorium later this year.

Flynn, who is originally from Edinburgh and graduated from the London School of Musical Theatre, said: "I'm so pleased to be making my pantomime debut at the Clyde Auditorium. The SECC show has such an excellent reputation for its production values and great comedy and music. As this will be my first pantomime I'll be hoping for lots of support from family and friends, who I know have already booked tickets to see the show."

The pantomime will be staged by Qods Entertainment, the world's biggest pantomime producer.

The show's executive produced Jonathan Kiley said: "Each year we audition hundreds of hopefuls for roles in Qdos pantomimes. I was absolutely delighted to meet Rachel, who has a sensational singing voice and a real charm which is going to light-up the Clyde auditorium stage. Cinderella is the ultimate pantomime role, and Rachel will have lots of fun with John Barrowman and this wonderful Company."

Amongst the special effects in this year's show will be an amazing flying Pegasus, which will ensure that Cinderella is taken to the Ball in style.

Cinderella is at the Clyde Auditorium from Saturday, December 13 until Sunday, January 14 2015 with tickets priced from £13. For more information visit the SECC website or call 0844 395 4000.
