GERMANS celebrated late into the night in pubs and bars across Europe after their country's World Cup victory.
Thousands set off fireworks and waved German flags as they partied in the capital Berlin.
In London celebrating fans gathered in Trafalgar Square for a party that lasted all night.
Prime Minister David Cameron congratulated German chancellor Angela Merkel by text message over her country's victory in last night's football World Cup final.
More than 20 million viewers watched the World Cup Final on BBC1 and ITV.
At 10.30pm, 20.5 million viewers were watching.
Most viewers watched on BBC1, which drew a peak of 16.7 million, while 3.8 million tuned in at the same time to ITV.
