Glaswegian actress Sharon Rooney has confirmed My Mad Fat Diary is to return to E4 for a third series.
The star, who plays Rae Earl in the hit show, said on Twitter today, "Attention everyone. Important announcement....
"To. Be. Continued."
Rooney, who was nominated for best actress in a television show for her role as Rae at this year's BAFTA Scotland Awards, added: "Well, That was an intense morning. Thank you all for the wonderful tweets and support, means the world. The MMFD fans are the BEST."
My Mad Fat Diary follows the story of music-loving Rae, and her family and friends in Lincolnshire after she leaves a psychiatric hospital.
E4 have not confirmed when the show will return.
