The Scottish actor who shared the "cooler" with Hollywood legend Steve McQueen in The Great Escape has died, aged 84.
Glasgow-born Angus Lennie was familiar to TV viewers for his role as Shughie McFee in the soap opera Crossroads.
He was born and brought up in Shettleston and attended Eastbank Academy.
His first major TV break came when he played Sunny Jim in an early series of The Vital Spark.
His much-loved role in Crossroads lasted for seven years.
And he often returned to Scotland to star in pantomime alongside fellow actors such as Stanley Baxter.
In The Great Escape he played Flying Officer Archibald Ives (The Mole), and he and McQueen were locked up together in a punishment room known as the cooler.
It is less than a month since the death of one of his other co-stars in the film, actor and director Sir Richard Attenborough.
Angus also appeared 633 Squadron, Tunes of Glory and Oh, What A Lovely War!
On TV he had roles in The Onedin Line, The Saint, Dr Who, Z Cars, Rumpole of the Bailey and Monarch of the Glen.
He died in a nursing home in Acton, London.
