SCOTLAND'S newest radio station is about to hit the airwaves.

Eklipse Sports Radio will air its first live broadcast at 7am on Monday May 5.

Chris Kane, the former CentralFM and 107 presenter, will host the opening show.

The station, based in Kinning Park, Glasgow, will broadcast on DAB digital radio across the central belt and worldwide online.

Eklipse will broadcast a mix of rolling Scottish sports news, talk and rock music.

The first song to air on the station will be Bryan Adams'Can't Stop This Thing We Started.

The station's flagship phone in programme will air at 6pm with broadcaster Bill Young and ex-Rangers and Hearts player Hugh Burns.

Initial funding for the station came through the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme which encourages investors with tax incentives.
