The teenage star, soon to appear in BBC3 comedy Cuckoo, is making the film as part of a series of programmes for the channel about issues that affect young people, called Eye Of The Tyger.

He interviews a student who pays her way through university by performing on a webcam, while the other shows examine the perils of online dating and male body image.

Dover, whose real name is Simon James Honey, has made a successful string of adult films and featured in front of and behind the camera.

Drew was at one time described as the editor of the British edition of Penthouse magazine and regularly modelled in adult magazines until quitting the industry.

The shows are part of a raft of new commissions announced by the BBC including two more episodes of the award-winning Our War, filmed on the front line in Afghanistan, and documentaries about a pupil referral unit which deals with children excluded from school and a look behind the scenes at Bangkok airport.

Russell Brand is presenting a one-off show about how drug addicts are treated differently around the world.

All the shows will appear on the channel before it is expected to move exclusively online as part of budget cuts at the BBC.

Channel controller Zai Bennett said: "BBC3 is the only channel that commissions original documentaries and current affairs specifically for young adults.

"These shows cover a range of topics from the war in Afghanistan to life at Bangkok airport, from a pupil referral unit in west London to drug cartels in Mexico. They demonstrate the range and quality that BBC3 viewers expect from our top-flight factual content like recent agenda-setting documentary Life And Death Row."
