THE School bell has gone as the final scenes of Waterloo Road were filmed in Greenock.
The BBC1 drama, set in the Inverclyde town, will end following a 10th series after TV bosses said it was "reaching the end of its life cycle".
Launched in 2006, the show has featured actors including Laurie Brett, Denise Welch, Chelsee Healey and Angela Griffin.
Crew members and cast, including actress Laurie Brett, and her co-star Neil Pearson, joined TV bosses Margaret Scott, Huw Kennair-Jones and Steve Hughes to mark the filming of the final scenes.
The teachers and pupils drama - followed by around three million viewers - survived a move of filming locations when it uprooted from its original home, in Rochdale, Lancashire, for the inverclyde town in 2011.
The final series is set to be screened in 2015.
