TRIBUTES have been paid to US actor James Avery.
The 65-year-old, who starred as Uncle Phil in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is said to have died following heart surgery.
Alfonso Ribeiro, who played his son Carlton, said he was a "truly special man". Co-star, Tatyana Ali added: "He'll always be a part of me."
